Denise O’Connor is a lifelong equestrian, who
upon graduating from high school, dedicated herself to the profession.
As a young adult, she was a working student, manager & trainer under top
instructors such as Carey Williams, Bob Russell, Hugh Wiley and Cliff
Gustafson. Her marriage took her from Connecticut to California, where
she continued to work in the equestrian world, while raising her two
young daughters. |

In 1984 her husband’s job moved the family to
Pennsylvania where Denise continued to freelance and teach young riders,
including her two daughters. Living in the Chester Springs area, she had
the opportunity to ride with such notables as Valerie Kanavy, Ruth Lott,
Mrs. Cheston, & Bob MacBurney. That same year she incorporated Banbury
Cross, Ltd. And launched one of the most successful show stables in
Chester County.

Denise's own riding experiences have taken her from the Hunter/Jumper arena to
the Foxhunting field. She incorporates this vast knowledge in her
every day teachings at Banbury Cross, Ltd. Her students learn all the nuances
of grooming, veterinary care & the relationship between horse & rider.
Although Banbury Cross Ltd. offers a very competitive riding program, Denise has
always maintained an atmosphere with a family feel. Through her
leadership, Banbury Cross, Ltd. has gone from a small teaching program to a
multi-discipline riding program, offering 2 full-service facilities.
Denise has produced many successful riders and horses on the local Chester
County Circuit, as well as the National USEF Show Circuit. |
